How we review casinos: RTP version first, then the terms
Most casino reviews judge bonuses and game counts. RTP Finder rates casinos differently. We look at the RTP version a casino runs on the slots you are likely to play, because that determines the true cost of each spin.
The rest is covered by the casino's own pages: its licence, terms of the bonuses and limits on withdrawal, each with the screenshot or text of the relevant clause.

Step one: the RTP version each casino runs
Each review examines popular games from Hacksaw Gaming, Pragmatic Play and Quickspin and determines the RTP shown in the game rules. That is compared to all other versions released by the game developer.
A rules screen is screenshot and dated, and sits beside every figure. If a casino prints a different RTP under the game, the rules screen takes precedence.
Casino pages are loaded from Ireland. Versions and terms can differ per country, so check the rules screen where you play.
Where each game developer places its RTP: how to check slot RTP.
- Grade A
Every slot in the review runs the developer's best version.
- Grade B
Some slots run a lower version.
- Grade C
Most slots run a lower version.
Step two: licence, bonus and withdrawals
The rest is covered by the casino's own terms, which are quoted and cited with their clause number, where they have them.
- Licence
The licence named on the casino's site, looked up on the register of the regulator. A licence that is not named is written as Not disclosed.
- Bonus cost
Wagering times the house edge of the slot the casino runs: what it costs, on average, to clear a bonus.
- Withdrawals
Limits (daily/weekly/monthly), processing times, and win caps from the terms.
- Country rules
The restricted countries list and whether the casino accepts players from Ireland.
How the casino rankings are ordered
Each ranking page is ordered in a way that is specific to what that page is about, and describes why it is ordered that way at the bottom of the page. A bonus buy ranking starts with what the buy is worth. A high roller ranking starts with what the withdrawal limit is.
The RTP version and the licence appear on all rankings as they are relevant to all pages.
All rankings and reviews are available on Owen Sheridan's page.
| Ranking | Ordered first by |
|---|---|
| Best payout casinos | RTP grade, then points below top |
| Hacksaw, Pragmatic, Quickspin | The version of that studio's slots |
| Bonus buy casinos | What the buys pay back |
| High roller casinos | Withdrawal limits |
| Fast withdrawal casinos | A written processing time |
Where the slot figures come from
The RTP finder uses information published by the studios on their own game pages. For Pragmatic Play, the version list is the one it gives to casinos. Volatility, hit frequency and max win are taken from where the studios publish them.
In the guides, these figures are only used to show totals and comparisons. Every slot example is linked to the studio page.
The figures can be found using the RTP finder.
How reviews are kept up to date
Casinos change game versions, bonuses and limits without notice. Each page shows the date it was last updated. Screenshots also show a date.
